Atlantic Coast Line Railroad Station (circa 1911) 472 Hay Street, Fayetteville, NC 28302, 910-433-1612, Open every other Saturday, this station is a rare example of Dutch Colonial architecture with the outside passenger and freight platform dating back to World War I. Historic Sites & Monuments

Cross Creek Cemetery (circa 1785) Cool Spring and Grove Streets, 910-433-1612, The oldest Confederate monument in North Carolina that was crafted by noted Scottish stone mason George Lauder is located in this cemetery with the monument honoring the Confederate and Union soldiers that were buried near Cross Creek in unmarked graves. Many of Fayetteville's early prominent citizens are also buried here.

Mallett Rogers House, The 5400 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, NC 28302, Methodist College Campus, 910-630-7004, Home to the Daniel and Peter Mallet families from 1778 to 1857, this Coastal Plain cottage is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and now contains an art gallery, as well as houses part of the Lafayette Collection. The gallery features exhibits, paintings, sculptures, and other mixed media works by Methodist College art faculty and students. map

Museum of the Cape Fear Historical Complex 801 Arsenal Avenue, Fayetteville, NC 28302, 910-486-1330, A very unique complex that combines three resources in one setting: the 1897 Poe House, a modern museum building, and the remains of the Fayetteville Arsenal.
