Located on 12 acres of city property near Interstate 94, Prairie Outpost Park's five historic and six reproduction buildings include the Pioneer Machinery Building, Ridgeway Lutheran Church, the Gorham General Store and Post Office, Northern Pacific Railroad Depot, a German-Russian stone house and a blacksmith shop. The 13,400 square foot Dakota Dinosaur Museum provides "a facility for preservation and display of geological and paleontological specimens for public review and education." Dickinson Museum Center's Prairie Outpost Park

The Pioneer Machinery Building features permanent exhibits interpreting early agriculture and ranching methods utilized in Stark County. Some items on display include horse-drawn pieces of machinery, a miniature farm, household items, an arrowhead collection, and a Teddy Roosevelt diorama.
