    The Third Annual Arts for Healing Exhibit and Reception will take place on July 12, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art at Johnstown. The exhibition is currently on display in the museum and will be shown through Aug. 10. The Art of Healing Exhibition: Reflections 2012, features about 20 works of art, including paintings, drawings, collages and woodcarvings created by patients of the John P. Murtha Neuroscience and Pain Institute during residency. Arts for Healing is a health initiative with the John P. Murtha Neuroscience and Pain Institute in collaboration with Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art that improves the quality of life for patients with chronic pain. The program is designed to make a difference in the lives of people in the region suffering from the effects of stroke, emotional problems and neurological disorders such as Post Polio Syndrome, Parkinsons or Lou Gehrigs disease.
