RC and Moon Pie Festival

This year's 14th annual festival will be held in June. The day will begin with 1,000 runners taking part in the 13th annual RC-Moon Pie 10 Mile Run. The grueling course is both a challenge and delight for runners aging from 10 to the over 70's crowd. The festival continues with games, contests, cloggers, Country music and bluegrass, and over 50 arts and crafts booths not to mention the dozens of food booths featuring Southern fares such as Tennessee Smoked Barbecue, hand squeezed lemonade and deep fried Moon Pies! Pomp and circumstance reign with the coronation of the King and Queen Coronation. The 2008 Queen is Dr. Phyllis Qualls-Brook, Assistant Commissioner of Tennessee Community and Industry Relations and the King is actor/director Lane Davies who will be directing the 1st Annual Tennessee Shakespeare Festival to be held in Bell Buckle the two weekends following the RC-Moon Pie Festival more...Music Festivals

The inaugural Tennessee Shakespeare Festival will be held in Bell Buckle, Tennessee in June and July. The performances of "A Midsummer's Night Dream" will be held on the Webb School athletic grounds. There will be tent seating as well as grounds seating for those preferring to bring a blanket. The Bell Buckle Cafe will be on site offering a variety of their down home style country cooking for picnicking. The festival will be an alliance of artistic, educational and civic entities from the Middle Tennessee area. The performance will be "A Mid-Summer's Night Dream" but with a slight twist of scene and accent. Though purely Shakespeare, the performance will be one that surprises and entertains even the savviest Shakespearian. more...
