A portion of the Catawba Road is designated a scenic byway and this road passes through pastoral landscapes, complete with historic buildings, mills, a brick kiln, 19th century churches, and an early 20th century school. The Catawba Road is also part of the TransAmerica Bikeway. map

This four mile round trip trail meanders along a shaded mountain creek to a 70 foot waterfall within the Jefferson National Forest. The hike is low to moderate difficulty and a picnicking area can be found at the beginning of the trail. Trout fishing is also available in the Little Stony Creek. map
