Catawba Road, A Virginia Byway Located on Virginia Route 785, 540-639-2202, A portion of the Catawba Road is designated a scenic byway and this road passes through pastoral landscapes, complete with historic buildings, mills, a brick kiln, 19th century churches, and an early 20th century school. The Catawba Road is also part of the TransAmerica Bikeway.

The hike is low to moderate difficulty and a picnicking area can be found at the beginning of the trail. Trout fishing is also available in the Little Stony Creek.
