Flowing south for over 26 miles to join the James River just above Bremo Bluff, this river is a great place for canoeing. It includes three Class 2 rapids along the lower part of the river. map
Rivanna River

This 755 acre preserve, situated within some 29,000 acres of relatively intact forest habitat, provides a challenging hike, and rewards visitors with stunning mountain vistas. The five and a half mile loop trail climbs steeply from the parking area and gains approximately 1,500 feet in elevation before reaching its highest point. map
