Historic Homes & Buildings

  • County Courthouse
    Located on Main and Davis Streets

    During the Civil War, this building was utilized for many purposes while the town changed hands several times. The dilapidated building was auctioned off in 1870, and the current courthouse was begun. Court was first held in the new building in July of 1873 and the beautifully restored circuit courtroom, complete with a handpainted classical border, is a source of pride for the community.  map

    This beautiful park offers a great paved one mile walking trail lined with markers containing information about Culpeper's history and a more adventurous nature trail which passes a monument dedicated to the Culpeper Minutemen.
