Historic Homes & Buildings

County Courthouse Located on Main and Davis Streets, 540-829-1749, During the Civil War, this building was utilized for many purposes while the town changed hands several times. The dilapidated building was auctioned off in 1870, and the current courthouse was begun. Court was first held in the new building in July of 1873 and the beautifully restored circuit courtroom, complete with a handpainted classical border, is a source of pride for the community.

Yowell Meadow Park Located at Corner of Blue Ridge & Route 522 North, 540-727-3421, This beautiful park offers a great paved one mile walking trail lined with markers containing information about Culpeper's history and a more adventurous nature trail which passes a monument dedicated to the Culpeper Minutemen. Children can unwind on the play areas and visitors can play basketball, beach volleyball, and tennis while at this park


Vineyards, Wineries & Breweries

Dominion Wine Cellars Number One Winery Avenue, Culpeper, VA 22701, 540-825-8772, Virginia's finest maker of award-winning specialty wines, this winery offers special wines such as Late Harvest Vidal, Blackberry and Raspberry Merlots, Lord Culpeper Seyval, Filippo Mazzei Reserve, Dominion Chardonnay, and East Davis Street White.
