Dedicated to preserving and interpreting a rural community setting in a suburban environment, this park recreates the era from 1920 to 1940, a time of great transition in rural America. Railroad memorabilia, information on the town's namesake, Commander William Lewis Herndon, and artifacts from local residents can be found at this museum. Operated by the Historical Society of Herndon, it is housed in a building which dates back to the 1850s and served as a train station until 1968. map
