Frank Lloyd Wright Rosenbaum House 601 Riverview Drive, Florence, AL 35631, 256-760-6379, The house was designed and built in 1939-40 and is the only structure in Alabama designed by architect Frank Lloyd Wright, also considered his best example of Usonian style. Indian Mound and Museum 1028 South Court Street, Florence, AL 35631, 256-760-6427, The domiciliary mound stands on the north side of the Tennessee River in silent testimony to the prehistoric Native Americans who built it by hand during the Woodland Period, long before the Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, and Creek inhabited Alabama. It is the largest mound in the Tennessee Valley. The museum houses artifacts from the region dating back 10,000 years.  map

Pope's Tavern Museum 203 Hermitage Drive, Florence, AL 35631, 256-760-6439, This tavern was constructed over 150 years ago and is one of Florence's oldest structures. It served as a frontier stagecoach stop and, later, as a hospital for both Union and Confederate forces during the War Between the States. Artifacts of nineteenth century living are housed in the museum along with period displays.  map

McGee Farm 8211 County Road 7, Florence, AL 35633, 256-766-2725, Take a short ride to the country and find an unbelievable selection of pumpkins and outdoor fun and education. This real pumpkin patch features pumpkins up to 200 lbs, and over 25 varieties. Over 30 varieties of mums, straw bales and corn stalks are also available. School Tours and hay rides include a tractor drawn hayride to the real pumpkin patch, and a trip to the Cotton Pickin' Patch with a cotton pickin' sack! The farm is open from late September thru October. map
