    Georgia's highest mountain, visitors to this mountain can enjoy spectacular 360 degree views at an elevation point of 4,784 feet above sea level. A visitor's center is located at the top of the mountain that includes a gift shop and bookstore and a picnic area with 15 picnic tables, as well as an observation deck, are also on site.  map

  • Misty Mountain Model Railroad

    America's largest O-gauge train display, this 3,400 square foot layout features 14 O-gauge Lionel trains traveling on a mile of track over 12 bridges and four trestles and through 15 tunnels. Approximately 300 pieces from Department 56 are sprinkled throughout the display that represent North Georgia and Atlanta. The display is open May through December and a one hour tour begins promptly at 2:00 p.m. every Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.  map

    This 38 mile loop provides spectacular views of the mountains and flatter piedmont to the south with several scenic overlooks.

    A 60 acre Christmas tree farm that offers over 25,000 Christmas trees of eight different varieties and over 5,000 pumpkins each year, as well as many family activities such as hayrides and a petting farm.  map

  • Trackrock Archaeological Area

    This 52 acre area contains preserved petroglyphs of ancient Indian origin with carvings resembling animal and bird tracks, crosses, circles, and human footprints. A historical marker locates the area.

  • Union County Historical Society Museum

    A museum of county history, this museum displays exhibits which represent Union County from its founding in 1832 to today. Items from churches, homesteads, schools, and doctor's offices are on display, as well as military memorabilia.

  • Sosebee Cove Scenic Area

    A beautiful 175 acre high-elevation north facing cove with unique flora and fauna that stands as a memorial to Arthur Woody who served as Ranger from 1918 to 1945 and features impressive boulder fields with a profusion of spring wildflowers, mosses, and ferns, as well as a loop trail through the cove that makes for a rewarding trip.
