Old Gaol Jail (circa 1807) Located on East Greene Street, 706-453-7592, Used until 1895, this two foot thick walled granite structure features a trap door in the floor of the upper story where prisoners were hanged. Tours are offered by the Greene County Historical Society. |

L.L. Wyatt Museum Located at Main and Broad Streets, 706-453-7592, The home of many of Greene County's former sheriffs, this museum is located in a circa 1890 building which was named after L.L. Wyatt who served as sheriff of Greene County for 52 years until his death in 1977. Visitors can view photos, badges, a seized corn liquor still, century old arrest warrants, an authentic old cell block, and firearms while at this museum. |
