Christmas Wonderland
Located at Rock Springs Park on College Avenue

An annual spectacular holiday light show which features over two million lights and over 100 displays capturing the memories of Christmas. The theme of the display is right out of Dickens and visits from Santa, as well as horse drawn carriage rides, are also a part of this event that lasts from Thanksgiving to Christmas.Downtown Alton Block Parties

The drinks are on ice, the food is on the fire, and the music is ready to rock, so get set to dance down to the streets of Downtown Alton to celebrate the summer Alton Block Party season. The Alton Block Parties, presented by the Alton Marketplace Association and sponsored by Dixon Distributing, run from May through October on the last Saturday of each month from 4 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. when Downtown Alton closes Third Street between Piasa and State Streets and the party begins with bands at both ends of the street. 2005 Block Party Schedule: Saturday, July 30 - Parrothead Party featuring The Phins Saturday, August 27 - Summer Nights featuring Sable Saturday, September 24 - Hot! Alton Cemetery
The Alton Cemetery is home to a myriad of characters from the pages of the past during their annual Vintage Voices heritage program every Saturday in October. Every fall, local actors in period costume portray captivating characters from Alton's rich past. You won't believe your eyes as the cemetery comes alive with living history tours.
