Big River Block Party
Located behind 300 block of Main, in downtown

Held in August, this annual Block Party features a huge car show with cars, trucks, tractors, and bikes. Other events include a Car Cruise, entertainment, live bands, a dunk tank, sanctioned Arm Wrestling Contest, 50/50 raffle, Horseshoe Tourney, and more. Specials will be offered in all of the restaurants and bars in Savanna, during the Block Party.

Opened in the early 1940's, this twin theater movie house continues to be a popular point of entertainment in Savanna. It presents current release movies each week, for both adults and children. The theater is closed on Monday nights.

Since 1962, this not-for-profit, professional, summer stock theatre has been offering a challenging mix of musicals, new plays, and contemporary classics. Housed in the original frame structure with a wide semi-thrust stage with a revolve, and 375 fixed seats, this is the oldest continuous operating summer theatre in Illinois. The Resident Company consists of 25 - 30 persons, selected by interviews and auditions in nine cities across the country, along with several volunteer performers and instrumentalists. Many TLP alumni have gone on to film, television, and Broadway.
