Held in Old Glencoe Township on Macleod's land to the north of Cedar Bluff State Park on the first Friday, Saturday and Sunday in May, Th' Gatherin' is an annual celebration of May Days. Since 1950, the official tree lighting ceremony for "the Christmas City of the High Plains" has taken place on the Saturday night following Thanksgiving. Presented by the Trego County Home Based Business Association, the annual Christmas Bazaar is held every year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, followed by the city's official tree lighting ceremony; in the Commercial Building and the 4-H Building at the Trego County Fairgrounds.
