    Situated on a hill overlooking Lake Sisseton, the Greek Revival-style Chubb House is the oldest brick house still standing in Fairmont. Built of brick made from the banks of Buffalo Lake, this was the home of Dr. Orville Chubb, the first county physician. The Chubb House is available for tours, meetings, dinners, rentals or for "high tea."  map

    The completely restored Fairmont Opera House is listed in the National Registry of Historic Sites. One of the few remaining opera houses in the Midwest, it is home to the Civic Summer Theatre and Children's Theatre and host to events throughout the year.  map

  • Martin County Courthouse (circa 1906)

    Listed in the National Registry of Historic Sites, the Classical-style Martin County Courthouse's first story is built of Marquette rain-drop sandstone from Michigan with its second and third stories built of Buff-Bedford limestone from Indiana. The Martin County Courthouse is open to the public during the week from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  map
