Rogers Mansion (circa 1843) 17 Meeting House Lane, Southampton, NY 11969, 631-283-2494, Built for whaling Captain Albert Rogers, this Greek Revival-style mansion is filled with Victorian and Edwardian era furnishings donated by citizens of Southampton. There are temporary exhibits on the first floor which include a 1890s parlor and a 1910 dining room. A heraldry exhibit, 1840s bed chamber, 1880s maid’s room, exhibits rooms of toys, silver objects made by Elias Pelletreau (1726-1810), and historic photographs from the hurricane of 1938, can be found on the second floor. Historic structures collected from different areas of Southampton, including a 19th century paint store, blacksmith’s shop, cobbler’s shop, one-room schoolhouse and a Colonial era barn that was seized by British soldiers to lodge their horses during the Revolutionary War, can be found on the grounds in Old Southampton Village behind the mansion.  more...

Thomas Halsey Homestead (circa 1648) 249 South Main Street, Southampton, NY 11969, 631-283-2494, Built by town founder Thomas Halsey, this 17th-century home is thought to be the oldest English-style house in New York State. An array of furniture from the 17th and 18th centuries that was donated by local families is on displayed in the house that is open from July to mid-October. A Colonial Revival-style garden that replicates an 18th century herb garden, a perennial border and an apple orchard can be seen in the backyard. more...

Corwith Windmill (circa 1800) Montauk Highway, Water Mill, NY 11976, 631-726 5984, Built in Sag Harbor, this windmill was moved to its present location in 1813 and was operated until 1887. Tours of the windmill are available.
