Little River State Park, which is part of Mt. Mansfield State Forest, primarily consists of a campground with 81 tent/trailer sites and 20 leantos. This is central Vermont's largest and most popular campground. Three of the four restrooms include hot showers. A sanitary dump station is available, but no hookups. Within the campground, there are swimming beaches, play areas, a boat launch, ballfield, nature museum and programs, and boat rentals. The Green Mountain Club and its 9000 plus members from across the country share a love for hiking and a commitment to preserving and protecting the Long Trail System for future generations. Built by the Green Mountain Club between 1910 and 1930, the Long Trail is the oldest long-distance trail in the United States. The Long Trail follows the main ridge of the Green Mountains from the Massachusetts-Vermont line to the Canadian border as it crosses Vermont's highest peaks. more... map
