State Parks

    This rustic log fort was carefully reconstructed to resemble the 1774 original that occupied this site. Located within the compound are 16 cabins, a meeting hall, and storehouse which features authentic demonstrations of colonial crafts. You can also see the restored home (circa 1859) of Job Prickett which has some of its original furnishings. Enjoy picnicking, an amphitheater for the performing arts, and a boat-launching ramp which affords access to the Monongahela River. Tours are offered and admission is charged.  more...  map

    This state park was once the site of a lumber and grist mill community and is now a 1,145 acre park. The 12 and 18 foot falls are the centerpiece of the park.     Standing as a memorial to the pioneer spirit of Watters Smith, who settled here in 1796; this 532-acre historical park includes an interpretive farm museum, a swimming pool, game courts, a picnic area, hiking and biking trails, and an activity/meeting building. Facilities include four baseball fields, a football field, playground, picnic area, tennis courts, and restrooms.
