William Cook Home Downtown, 205-697-5792 or 334-272-1972, William and Jeanie Cook were pioneers in developing the coal mining industry in Walker County and the United States. William planned and managed the construction of this home around 1900. Cook personally selected each tree to be used in construction of the home site. This home is listed on the landmarks register and honors the heritage these Scottish immigrants have passed on to their descendants. |
