The Monterey Bay Aquarium is one of the largest aquariums in the world. It has an annual attendance of 1.8 million and holds 35,000 plants and animals representing 623 species. The centerpiece of Monterey Bay Aquarium's numerous exhibits is the Ocean's Edge wing, a 33-foot high tank that is filled with California coastal marine life.
