Brown-Pusey House 128 North Main Street, Elizabethtown, KY 42701, 270-765-2515, Built in 1825, this was the town's first safe haven for travelers. It hosted General Custer's and Jenny Lind in the 1870's. This Georgian mansion houses The Pusey Room Museum, a genealogical library, is located in this Georgian manor. Meeting rooms for private and public functions are also available. There is a beautiful garden adjacent to the House. Guided tours are available.

Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historic Site 2995 Lincoln Farm Road & 7120 Bardstown Road, Hodgenville, KY 42748, Located 3 Miles South of Hodgenville, 270-358-3137, Lincoln's humble beginnings can be better understood because of the symbolic early 19th century Kentucky cabin, housed within a Neo-classic Memorial Building, at the site of his birth. The Birthplace Unit features 116 acres of Thomas Lincoln's Sinking Spring Farm. The granite stairs leading up to the Memorial Building at his birthplace represent his age when he died, 56. The Sinking Spring, site of the Boundary Oak tree and other items can also be seen. The Boyhood Home Unit at Knob Creek Farm was home to Lincoln during his earlier years. more...  |

Patton Museum of Cavalry and Armor 133 Gold Vault Road, Elizabethtown, KY 40121, Fort Knox Military Reservation, 502-943-8977, The Patton Museum not only offers insight into General George S. Patton's accomplishments and legacy but features a collection of more than 200 tanks and armored vehicles, which include French and British WWI tanks, Soviet and German WWII tanks, and armored vehicles used in Desert Storm, and other historical artifacts to preserve and make available information regarding Cavalry and Armor. General Patton's personal effects, helmet, office van, touring car, and one of his ivory handled pistols are on display. |
