The Historic Aviation Memorial Museum's mission is "to pay tribute to the pioneers of flight and the patriots who were instrumental in the advancement of aviation during the 20th century." The Exhibit Hall houses a gift shop, multi-media theater room, library, and part of the current collection of aviation memorabilia spanning the 20th century. The hangar includes a Russian Mig-17F, Czech L-29 Delfin trainer and more. The 14-acre Tyler Municipal Rose Garden is the nation’s largest municipal rose garden. There are over 38,000 rose bushes providing 500 different varieties, from tall grafted rose trees to miniature roses no larger than a dime. A highlight of the Garden is he one-acre Heritage Rose and Sensory Garden, which has over 30 antique rose varieties that date back to 1867.
