Carrie Chapman Catt Girlhood Home and Museum (circa 1865)

A classic example of Victorian architecture, this home is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was once the home of Carrie Chapman Catt, the woman who founded the League of Women Voters and who played a leading role in the campaign to win voting rights for women. The house is filled with family artifacts, furnishings, and memorabilia. The museum is open from late May until early September. Tours are available. more... mapSuspension Footbridge (circa 1906)
Located on the West End of Clark Street
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this 267-foot bridge over the Cedar River was built originally for local residents to attend Chautauqua celebrations held in the Lion’s Field area. The suspension footbridge, or the "swinging bridge," is the only bridge of its type in the state.

Located on the Northwest Side of Charles City
Owned, operated and cared for by the St. Charles Cemetery Association and the Women's Cemetery Improvement Association, the Riverside Cemetery is known as one of Iowa's most beautiful cemeteries. One of its focal points is the circa 1907, small chapel built of native stone. It features original furnishings and period stained glass windows. map

Housed in the former Dr. Salsbury's Laboratories, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Floyd County Museum is one of the Midwest's largest rural county museums.
