    Longwoods' completion was halted by the Civil War, but what was completed is truly amazing. Its octagonal shape is very elaborate and it has been preserved in its incomplete state. Tours are given daily that explain the tale of how the house was not-to-be.   map

    Magnolia Hall was the last great mansion built before the Civil War. It is a very fine example of Greek Revival architecture. The Natchez Garden Club is in charge of the restoration and the home features a costume museum.   map

    Melrose is the most intact Antebellum estate in the nation. Owned by the National Park Service, the home still has its original hand-painted canvas flooring.
